Long Service Recognitions

Julia says

have spent the last twenty years working for Stroud Homes as a carer and senior carer at Cotswold Grange, Barn Lodge, occasional shifts at Cotswold Court and also, briefly, the Gables. Various experiences were gained within my role as a Carer.

I believe that working in care is a passion and not just a job, responsibility for the service users’ Health and Welfare and Promoting Independence.

I have learnt a lot with continual training and support from the management team.

Each service user has their own personality and you bond with every one of them. They are all very special people in my eyes.

The Cotswold Grange is a friendly and active home where the service users are well looked after and happy. It has been a honour to have worked here.

I have enjoyed working here otherwise I wouldn’t have lasted so long.

I have now retired but keep my hand in by working some bank shifts, this keeps me in touch and I always feel welcome when I visit to catch up with the gossip.

I am the longest serving member of staff with Stroud Homes. I started on 14th May 2002. I have worked in all the homes within the company in the area and have enjoyed each one. I have got as much from our tenants as I hope I have been able to give them over the years. The satisfaction of helping someone reach their full potential is worth all the dedication and support given every day as a staff member.

The management team have been truly one in a million from when I started with the company and down through the years.

One example I can mention is the understanding, compassion and flexibility given to me in taking time off for several weeks when my mother was terminally ill, something which I will be forever grateful for.

On an individual level, the support and sympathy that was given to me, when I had had my own health issues, was something that I also deeply appreciated.

The management are very approachable and friendly and are always happy and helpful to deal with situations where, as a staff member, I may have needed support.

What I feel makes the organization truly amazing is their dedication to staff and service users and I have enjoyed various holidays, day trips, concerts, and events with service users over the years.

My loyalty to this organization is due to the respect and support given from the wonderful service users, teams and management and I look forward to many more years with the company.
